A "Farm team" in baseball, also known as a minor league team, is a team affiliated with a Major League Baseball organization, used to develop and train young players before they reach the major leagues. It's a stepping stone for newer athletes, allowing them to learn, develop and adapt to the professional game in a low pressure environment. The CAHIP Farm Team was developed as a similar stepping stone where our members can find out how to plug into our association leadership.

CAHIP Farm Team, led by our current President-Elect, meets on zoom bi-monthly to review what it looks like to serve in leadership on a board of directors, paths to leadership and discovering your passions in a low commitment and welcoming environment.

SEPTEMBER 23, 2026 FARM TEAM TOPIC: ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER

Why do we bother? How is it helpful? What is the point? — A practical, no-nonsense look at parliamentary procedure.

ABOUT THIS TRAINING
Ever wonder why we even bother with Robert's Rules of Order? Join Vanessa and Scott Ignacio for a lively, practical look at parliamentary procedure — why it matters, how it actually helps, and where it fits in your Chapter's meetings. Scott loves the structure; Vanessa loves knowing the rules well enough to find their edges. Together, they'll help demystify Robert's Rules for anyone who's ever struggled with them (or just plain dreads them). We'll also touch on By-Laws — why they matter and how to track down your own Chapter's version.

Vanessa Ignacio
PRESIDENT-ELECT, CAHIP
Learns the rules well enough to know exactly where they bend.

Scott Ignacio
FORMER MAYOR, CITY OF POINT ARENA
A true believer in rules and structure — and where they come from.
